There has been a demand from a long time that restaurants in Mumbai should be opened for dine-in services and now it seems the wish will be soon granted! As per the recent updates by CNBC- TV 18 stated that group of key ministers in the state would meet around 10th September to discuss the next set of guidelines under Mission Begin Again 5.0. The reports also mentioned that the group of ministers could discuss the proposal of allowing dine-in services at restaurants across the state.
According to NRAI they met the CM of Maharashtra, Uddhav Thackeray today to discuss the dine-in services to be restarted in restaurants. It was reported that the dine-in services in restaurants of Maharashtra will be allowed with only 50% of its actual capacity. Certain details of SOP still will be jointly worked out by the Restaurants and the Government of Maharashtra.
The restaurant industry has been one of the worst-affected due to the COVID-19 lockdown and NRAI has predicted that over 40 percent of restaurants may not even open up once the lockdown is lifted.
The President of NRAI, Anurag Katriar told CNBC-TV18 that with every passing month of the lockdown another 5 percent of restaurants may bite the dust and in that scenario any relief from the Maharashtra government in the next set of unlock guidelines will be seen as a huge relief.
As of now, only malls and restaurants are allowed for take away services. The cases of people contracting to coronavirus is increasing day by day. Currently Maharashtra stands with 13.2 lakh cases registered for COVID-19.
