Sukhbir Singh Badal, President and Party Cheif of Shiromani Akali Dal, met Ram Nath Kovind, President of India, of over the passage of anti-farmer bills. He asks the President to take the bills passed in Rajya Sabha back to the Parliament. The meeting happened on Monday at 4:30 pm.
Two bills, The Farmer’s Produce Trade and Commerce Bill, and The Farmers Agreement on Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, were passed in Rajya Sabha on voice votes. Badal remarks this passing as truly tragic for India’s democracy. He said, ” Please intervene on behalf of farmer, laborers, arhityas, mandi labor and Dalits, or they will never forgive us. Democracy means consensus, not oppression.”
