Wipro Limited, a global leader in technology services and consulting, has announced the appointment of Omkar Nisal as the Chief Executive Officer for its Europe Strategic Market Unit (SMU), effective immediately. Omkar will report to Wipro CEO Srini Pallia and will join the company’s Executive Board. He succeeds Pierre Bruno, who is stepping down but will remain in a transition role.
Omkar, who has been with Wipro since 2012, is well-regarded for his leadership in driving digital transformation for clients, particularly in the banking sector across EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa). His most recent role was Senior Vice President and Managing Director for the UK and Ireland, where he oversaw a regional P&L exceeding a billion dollars. Omkar’s strategic vision and deep understanding of European market dynamics make him well-suited to lead Wipro’s growth in the region.
Srini Pallia, Wipro CEO, expressed confidence in Omkar’s ability to build a resilient organization and capitalize on new opportunities in Europe. He also thanked Pierre Bruno for his contributions over the past four years, during which Wipro expanded its footprint in the European market.

Omkar holds an honors degree in Computer Science and has applied for patents in various technological areas, including channels, anti-money laundering (AML), and fraud detection.
