Mercedes-Benz India has become the first automaker to announce a price hike across its entire lineup for the year 2025. Starting January 1, 2025, the luxury carmaker will implement an ex-showroom price increase of up to 3% across its portfolio. This decision comes in response to rising input costs, inflation and increased operational expenses, factors that have led to similar price corrections from other manufacturers in previous years.

The price hike will vary depending on the model, with increases ranging from Rs 2 lakh for the GLC SUV to Rs 9 lakh for the flagship Mercedes-Maybach S 680 luxury limousine. Mercedes-Benz India’s diverse lineup includes a range of vehicles, from luxury sedans like the S-Class and E-Class LWB, to SUVs such as the GLS, GLC, and GLE. The carmaker also offers cutting-edge electric models like the EQS and EQE, as well as a selection of coupes, cabriolets, and the A-Class hatchback. This price adjustment is expected to impact all these segments.

Despite the upcoming price increase, Mercedes-Benz India has continued to see strong sales performance in 2024. In October 2024, the brand reported a 21% year-on-year increase in sales for the third quarter, with 5,117 units sold, compared to 4,240 units in Q3 2023. In total, Mercedes-Benz sold 14,379 units in the first nine months of 2024, marking its best-ever performance in the January to September window.
