Dilbag Singh, Director General of Police of Jammu & Kashmir today said that Pakistan is trying to disturb peace in the region by using drones to drop weapons. He said that Pakistan is also trying to infiltrate terrorists to our country, according to ANI.

“Dropping of weapons by drone is challenging but we have been able to restrict such acts and have got some success,” says the DGP.

Earlier last month also, Singh had mentioned that they have detected the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) for sending arms and ammunitions, in the recent months. “There has been 75 per cent more firing from across the border in the first seven months of 2020. There were 487 incidents of firing from Pakistan till July this year in comparison to 267 such incidents in the same period in 2019. The firings are cover to infiltrate militants. So far, just 26 militants could infiltrate into Jammu and Kashmir,” he had said then.

It was also detected that Pakistan was dispatching weapons through trucks and such incidents were found in Punjab in the past.

Terror Monitoring Group (TMG) with representatives from the Jammu and Kashmir Police, Enforcement Directorate, Income Tax Department and a few other organisations are in place for to curb the growth of terrorist groups and their supporters in the region.
