A video of a news channel journalist being beaten by at least four men in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur district over a minor argument has become viral on Twitter. According to reports, an argument took place between the journalist and the men in the video over giving pass to a car, which resulted in a brutal attack on the journalist Devesh Tyagi, associated with Network18. The police have said that all the accused have been charged for attempt to murder and two of them have been arrested so far.
The accused were identified as Ravindra, Aniket and Ghanashyam and Saharanpur Superintendent of Police, Vineet Bhatnagar has said that two of the three named accused have been arrested and efforts are being made to trace other involved in the attack.

Bhatnagar, while speaking to journalists also said that “strict action” will be taken against the attackers. “The video is a crucial piece of evidence and will be used while ascertaining the details of the attack,” he added. The incident happened on September 15 when journalist Devesh Tyagi on his way to the Ambedkar Sports Stadium was stopped by the miscreants.
