Tata Projects Ltd (TPL) has won the bid to design the new Parliament building at Rs 861.90 crore. The work on the new Parliament House will start after the Monsoon Session of the Parliament.
As per reports the blueprints to redesign the Central Vista are being finalized by the Modi-government.
So far, we know that the new parliament will be triangular and will have the National Emblem sitting on top.
The structure will be 60,000-metre square and will be situated in Plot 118 of the Parliament House Estate. The structure will have 120 offices and 6 separate entrances. The chamber for the Lok Sabha will have a capacity for 1,350 MPs, as per the Hindustan Times, to accommodate both houses for joint sessions of the Parliament.
The central foyer of the structure will be named Constitution Hall and the Indian Constitution will be displayed there.
The ceiling of the new Parliament House will have fresco paintings on the ceiling shlokas will be inscribed in the walls of the House.
