With movies such as Stree 2 and Phir Aayi Haseen Dillruba receiving huge receptions from the audience, the movie franchises seems to be a new trend. This definitely does bring in the question whether the evergreen love story Tanu Weds Manu would also come up with a third installment.
It all began in 2011 with the first movie being released featuring Kangana Ranaut and R Madhavan, it was followed by Tanu Weds Manu Returns in 2015, which made it really solid in the hearts of fans. Reacting to the rumuors, the director, Aanand L Rai, told that he knows how much of curiosity is arising in case there will be a third film. In this context, he also showed that a story would go ahead only with a narrative. “We are working on the story,” He told Hindustan Times about the responsibility of bringing back the cherished favorites with a far better and compelling story.
He promised they will only head forward when the story is cracked. The filmmaker also said that the production is always an intent-driven thing to the news portal. He added that he can start shooting after three months if he was just interested in making money.
When asked about the pressure to live up to the high expectation created by Tanu Weds Manu Returns, Raksha Bandhan director said when they achieve a hit film, it becomes a big challenge, and that is exciting part. He concluded, “But that’s the exciting part of our business. You have to handle the responsibility thoughtfully and not let the pressure overwhelm you.”
