British star Harry Styles will be replacing Shia LaBeouf in Olivia Wilde’s upcoming movie ‘Don’t Worry Darling’.
Styles will join Florence Pugh and Chris Pine in the ‘psychological thriller’ by Wilde. The director will herself star in a supporting role in the film. According to Variety, LaBeouf had to quit the film due to scheduling issues.
The film is said to be set in an isolated, utopian community in the 1950s California desert. The script has been authored by Shane and Carey Van Dyke of ‘The Silence’ fame. Katie Silberman, who collaborated with Wilde in ‘Booksmart’, is adapting the screenplay.
Wilde and Silberman also happen to be the producers of this film alongside Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee and Miri Yoon. Catherine Hardwicke is the executive producer.
Styles made his debut as an actor in Christopher Nolan’s 2017 war drama ‘Dunkirk’. He played the role of Alex Dunkirk, a British soldier in the film. This will be Styles’ second film. Interestingly, this is also Wilde’s second feature film as a director. She made her directorial debut in 2019 with a feature film called ‘Booksmart’. Wilde also directed a short film this year, ‘Wake Up’.
The project is expected to start production later this year.
