Day of the Devs, a nonprofit games showcase that spotlights hidden gem indie games, returned this year with an impressive lineup. The event featured new games from indie developers you might recognize, including Capybara Games (Grindstone), The Game Bakers (Furi), Mossmouth (Spelunky), and DigixArt (Road 96).
Highlights from Day of the Devs
Capybara Games unveiled Battle Vision Network, a competitive sci-fi game that serves as a spiritual successor to Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes. Emphasizing multiplayer and a live service component, the game’s story will evolve seasonally. It launches on PC, Netflix, and game consoles in October. Additionally, Netflix will release a sequel to Cozy Grove called Camp Spirit.
The Game Bakers introduced Cairn, an intricate and realistic mountain-climbing game with survival elements, appealing to fans of climbing games like Jusant and Surmount. This game was also featured during the main Summer Game Fest show.
DigixArt closed the show with Tides of Tomorrow, an ambitious narrative adventure game with multiplayer elements. The choices players make can influence what happens in their friend’s world.
Blumhouse revealed its first game under its new publishing label: a retro-style survival horror game called Fear the Spotlight.
