Beyond Paradise, which is an expansion series of Death in Paradise, has been awarded with renewal of its third season, immediately after the conclusion of its season 2.

The BBC and BritBox International’s detective series has been a bit of a sleeper hit for the former and was one of the UK’s most popular debut dramas last year.

Beyond Paradise stars Kris Marshall as DI Humphrey Goodman who left Saint Marie, the setting of Death in Paradise, to move to his partner Martha’s, played by Sally Bretton, hometown of Shipton Abbott near the Devon coast. Not long after arriving, Humphrey joins the local police force, where he soon makes an impression on the local officers. The second season, which recently concluded on BBC, saw Humphrey and Martha almost tie the knot, as they foster their journey and concluded it with a heartwarming moment as they welcomed Ryan into their home.

The Caribbean- set Death in Paradise is one of the BBC’s most popular dramas of this millennium and has run for 13 seasons. There is another spin off in its universe, which is Return to Paradise by ABC in Australia, will launch soon and has already been acquired by BBC. Beyond Paradise has been sold to nearly 60 territories by BBC Studios.
