Netflix is investing in Leanne Morgan.
The streaming giant has handed out a 16 episode, straight to series order for an untitled multicamera comedy with Leanne in the lead. The series has been created by Chuck Lorre, known for The Big Bang Theory, and Two And A Half Men, along with the comedian and Susan McMartin.
Netflix has shared that the untitled comedy revolves around the life of Leanne’s character, the life of whose is turned upside down when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. She had never expected that she will have to start over in life, when she is already a grandmother and is in menopause, but with the help of her family, she will have to navigate this new chapter with grace, dignity, and Jell-O salad.
Earlier, the comedian has collaborated with the streamer when her I’m Every Woman stand- up special in 2023 reached the top 10 comedy specials on the platform. The Tennessee native, who has been in the comedy industry for 25 years, rose to immense fame post her stand up special on Netflix in 2023.
She will be next seen in Amazon feature film You’re Cordially Invited, opposite Will Ferrell and Reese Witherspoon.
