Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton’s friendship made them comfortable while shooting the sex scene in the upcoming season of Bridgerton as it was a lot less daunting. In the series, Nicola and Luke play the characters Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton, respectively.
In an interview with Teen Vogue, Nicola revealed that in between shooting the scenes, they would lounge naked together, because they felt at so ease.
“Yeah, so it’s really funny,” she said when asked about the rumors. “That is true.”
“It is a testament to the fact that we just got to a point where we were so comfortable together,” she stated. She added that post finishing their big sex scene, which was “most intense”, both the actors were just relieved.
However, the 37- year- old noted that it also came down to logistics given they weren’t wearing “real clothes” and would have flashed the crew if they stood up.
Meanwhile, Luke, for his part, also agreed to Nicola as he stated that having a friendship with his co-star made the experience much easier.
The Netflix stars previously gushed about their experience filming such vulnerable scenes during a screening for the highly anticipated series, which will release on May 16th.
