“When witnessing players from the opposition performing at such a high level, it’s almost as if we deserve some credit for influencing their approach to Test cricket differently than others,” remarked England cricketer Ben Duckett, despite Yashasvi Jaiswal‘s single-handedly outstanding performance against the visiting team.
Upon hearing this witty comment about ‘Indian players should credit to Bazball,’ Captain Rohit Sharma wasted no time in delivering another pull shot at the press conference. In a savage tone, Rohit stated before the 5th Test that Ben Duckett surely hasn’t had the privilege of witnessing Rishabh Pant’s batting prowess.

Rohit didn’t hesitate to suggest to the England team, particularly Ben Duckett, that they probably haven’t seen Rishabh Pant in action, hence such a comment was made.
“When asked about the comment made by the England batter, Rohit said, “There is a guy called Rishabh Pant in our team; probably Ben Duckett hasn’t seen him play.”
Yashasvi Jaiswal has emerged as India’s top-scoring batter in the series, amassing 655 runs in 4 matches so far at an average of 94.57 and a strike rate of 78.63. Observing the young Indian batter deal in boundaries during the Rajkot Test, Duckett suggested that the England team’s ‘Bazball’ style of play should be credited for encouraging Jaiswal to play the way he has in the series so far.
Earlier, former England captain Nasser Hussain had criticized the player for his remarks.
“He’s not learned from you. He’s learned from his upbringing, all the hard yards he had to put in growing up. If anything, lads, look at him and learn from him. I hope there’s a little bit of self-introspection going on. Otherwise, it becomes a cult – and, at times, Bazball and this regime have been described as such, where you cannot criticize within or externally,” Hussain had said on Sky Sports.
