Imran Khan was considered one of the most promising actors when he made his debut in 2008 with Aamir Khan’s production film Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na. His boy-next-door demeanour and youthful innocence quickly attracted spectators.
However, save for a few films such as I Hate Luv Story and Delhi Belly, Khan was unable to achieve commercial success. He also separated from Avantika Malik in 2019, with whom he had a daughter.
Imran opted to leave Bollywood after his most recent film, Katti Batti, failed at the box office in 2015. From 2015 until 2024, Khan did not sign any Bollywood films and has no plans for his future movies.
In a recent interview, the actor discussed how his life changed after he left Bollywood.
In a recent Vogue interview, Imran Khan revealed that his lifestyle has evolved considerably over the years, particularly since taking a break from Bollywood. Imran stated that he used to live in a luxurious Pali Hill home but now lives in an apartment in Bandra.
The actor now believes in a minimalist lifestyle, stating that he only has three plates, two coffee mugs, and one frying pan in the kitchen. Khan also said that he had sold his Ferrari and now owns a Volkswagen.
The actor recounted how he used to be irritated when messages were left unanswered in the chat box, and today there are numerous calls, emails, and texts that go unread.
Khan added that, while everyone believes he left acting because he wasn’t successful, he actually took a hiatus to become a new father. He wanted to be the finest father to his daughter, Imara.
However, after Katti Batti failed at the box office, Khan stated that he wanted to think about the type of work he wanted to do and what works in the industry.
Imran has yet to sign any Bollywood projects. He’s taking it one step at a time, hoping to make his comeback shortly.
