The central government has stated that more than 4 crore COVID-19 detection tests have been completed in the country since the outbreak of the virus. There has also been a rise in the number of tests conducted in a day and we have already achieved the testing capacity of 10 lakhs test per day.
The ministry stated that “This has boosted the Tests Per Million with a sharp increase to 29,280. As seen in many states and union territories that have increased the testing, the positivity rate will eventually fall with higher levels of testing. The national positivity rate has remained low at 8.57% and is constantly falling.”
India has come a long way from conducting the first COVID-19 test and has conducted more than nine lakh tests in the past three days. As the number of cases have rose to 34,63,972 in the country the centre along with the state government is trying to put more consistent and focused efforts and are successful in testing 4,04,06,609 people throughout the country.
The number of test conducted till August 17 had crossed the three crore mark. The government is following the approach of Test, Track and Treat to combat the virus.
