The young & explosive wicketkeeper-batter has pled a request to BCCI for releasing him from the Indian Squad for the Test series against South Africa. Kishan has withdrawn from the upcoming Test series, citing personal reasons, a decision that has been accepted by the BCCI. He made his Test debut in July this year against West Indies.

This development follows the earlier exclusion of World Cup star bowler Mohammed Shami from the Test series, as he was not cleared by the BCCI medical team.

In response to Kishan’s withdrawal, the Men’s selection committee has named KS Bharat as his replacement. Bharat, with five Tests under his belt, becomes one of the two wicket-keeping options in the squad, alongside KL Rahul. His most recent Test appearance was in June this year during India’s series against Australia.
