Despite restrictions placed on Indian players, the coaching staff, led by the esteemed Rahul Dravid, seized a rare day off to embark on an unforgettable trekking adventure in the picturesque hills of Dharamshala. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) offered a glimpse of this memorable outing through a captivating video shared on their official Instagram account, capturing the essence of their day spent in the lap of nature.
In the video, head coach Rahul Dravid, accompanied by batting coach Vikram Rathore, bowling coach Paras Mhambrey, and other members of the support staff, explored the enchanting trails of Triund, immersing themselves completely in the serene surroundings. BCCI aptly captioned the video, stating, “A day off for the squad is a day well spent in the hills for the support staff.”
Earlier, the Cricket Control Board had refrained players from trekking in Dharamshala, citing concerns about potential injuries during the crucial World Cup. While the players enjoyed a much-needed seven-day break, BCCI issued strict instructions, prohibiting them from engaging in strenuous physical activities.
“The team management has informed players that they can’t go trekking; they can go out but can’t do trekking. Additionally, during the series, no Indian player can even participate in paragliding, as it may violate the terms of their player contracts,” revealed a BCCI official to Indian Express.
