Joe Root, known for his class and temperament, took the responsibility on his shoulders, scoring his 37th ODI fifty and the first in the ICC Men’s World Cup 2023. The right-handed batter started off well with constant strike rotation and just a couple of boundaries in the building of his innings.

Root scored the first fifty of the tournament in 57 balls, including two fours and a massive six. It will be exciting to see how Root builds his innings throughout the game, helping England reach a big total against the Kiwis.
