The Ministry of Ayush, the Central Council for Research Homoeopathy, and the State of Kerala were asked to respond to the Supreme Court on Tuesday regarding a request to stop the administration of the homoeopathic medication “Arsenic album 30” to children and people over 65 as a Covid-19 preventive measure or to boost immunity.
All of the respondents in the case were ordered to file their affidavits by a Supreme Court division bench. Dr. Cyriac Abby Philips’ writ appeal also challenges the Ministry of Ayush’s guidelines, advisories, and fact sheets allowing the administration of homoeopathic treatment.

The Union Ministry’s attorney informed the court that it had a meeting with officials and that those officials had advised them that there are research claiming that arsenic album is not toxic. In response, Justice Aniruddha Bose claimed that Arsenic Album is hazardous and that the toxicity depends on the dilution level.
Philiphs said in his court filing that the Ministry’s instructions had led to the inclusion of very toxic carcinogens like arsenic in the homoeopathic medications that some State Governments, like Kerala, have been prescribing.
