The greatest impact of the India-China tensions can be felt in the trade and commerce sector.
The most affected amongst these has been the sale of electronics. The sale of cellphones and such has dropped significantly. In the first quarter of 2020, it was 81% and the second quarter dropped to 72%.
Amid this, Xiaomi has started a ‘mi for India’ campaign to ensure that there is no further drop in its sales due to the tensions between the two countries. Xiaomi assured its users that out of all the cellphones they sell in India, 99% are made in India.
