In Chhattisgarh, a protest was organised inside a mall against the contentious movie Adipurush starring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan. On Twitter, there are a number of videos showing demonstrators outside the theatre reciting the Hanuman Chalisa and calling for the film to be banned.

Many movie reviewers and regular people have accused the movie of offending Hindus’ feelings and criticised the directors for using the characters from the epic Ramayana in unacceptable ways.

Adipurush’s trite language has drawn harsh criticism. Manoj Muntashir, the film’s dialogue writer, stated on Sunday that the producers had chosen to “revise some of the dialogues” and that the revised lines would be included in the movie by this week.

In one of the now-viral films, a crowd of people can be seen shouting “Jai Shri Ram” in protest as they demonstrate inside a mall, echoing their fervent disapproval. Additionally, they urged others not to see the movie. “Demand to ban adipurush movie in Bilaspur, Chhatisgarh. Ab to sarm karo makers” sharing the clip, a user tweeted.

Different parts of the country witnessed protests against the film after it hit the big screens on June 16.

Om Raut, the director, and Manoj Muntashir, the writer, are currently in the centre of the crisis and have been the target of assassination threats from all over the nation.

In Chhattisgarh, statues of Raut and Muntashir were hung from a tree, and the state’s chief minister, Bhupesh Baghel, has said that the movie will be outlawed if enough people ask for it to be.

Additionally, the Kshatriya Karni Sena threatened to murder Om Raut. Dr. Raj Shekhawat, National President of Kshatriya Karni Sena, declared, “We will kill the director, haath mein aaya toh koot denge, we are planning to form a team in Mumbai and tell them to get hold of weapons to find him and kill him.”
