Director Nishikant Kamat started his filmmaking journey from a Marathi movie called Dombivali East which became one of the biggest hits in the Marathi cinema. He entered into Bollywood with the movie Mumbai Meri Jaan which is based on the 2006 Mumbai bombings. The director, later on, went on to make movies like Drishyam, Madaari, Fugay and others which were critically acclaimed. Reports are surfacing that Nishikant Kamat is admitted to a hospital and is in a critical condition.

According to SpotboyE, the director has suffered from Liver Cirrhosis in the past and that has relapsed. His condition is said to be terminal and he is admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad.

A few days ago his 2015 release Drishyam starring Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran and Tabu which was critically acclaimed completed five years. Tabu shared a poster of the film one her social media handle and wrote ‘Five Years!!’.

On the work front, Kamat’s next film is supposed to release in the year 2022 and the movie’s name is Darbadar. He has also acted in movies in the past, his last movie was Bhavesh Joshi. Nishikant played an antagonist in the John Abraham starrer Rocky Handsome.
