Bhupendra Bhai Patel has been re-elected as the chief minister of the state and will take the oath on Monday as a result of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s resounding victory in the Gujarat Assembly elections. On Sunday, Vijay Rupani, a former chief minister, joined newly-elected BJP MLAs for a meeting at the party office in Gandhinagar.
Patel, who had resigned from his position as chief minister earlier on Friday and given it to the state governor at Raj Bahwan, was chosen to serve a second consecutive term in that capacity. The BJP submitted a claim to form the government at the conference.

The new Gujarat Cabinet will take the oath with the Chief Minister on December 12 during a ceremony when more than a dozen ministers will also be sworn in, according to sources.
When asked whether the Uniform Civil Code would be discussed at the first cabinet meeting, Patel responded, “The committee has been formed. Work will be done on the basis of their recommendation.”
Bhupendra Patel will continue serving as the state’s chief minister, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced on Thursday after winning a historic victory in Gujarat. His oath-taking ceremony will take place on December 12.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP State President CR Patil will all be present for the swearing-in ceremony.
With a remarkable 52.5 percent of the vote, the BJP won a record 156 seats in Gujarat, marking its seventh straight election triumph. In contrast, the vote shares for the opposition parties, the Congress and AAP, were over 27% and over 13%, respectively. Only 17 seats were won by the Congress, while five seats were won by the AAP.
Three seats went to independent candidates, and one went to the Samajwadi Party.
