The Bhartiya Janata Party, on Monday, appointed C R Patil as president of its Gujrat unit and Jamyang Tsering Namgyal as the president of the Ladakh unit. Both Patil and Namgyal have been BJP MPs in the Lok Sabha.
Chandrakant Raghunath Patil has served three terms as an MP from Navsari, Gujrat in the Lok Sabha. He will be replacing Jitendrabhai Vaghani, per the statement issued by the BJP. Patil has been considered as a dynamic parliamentarian by the party. He has been responsible for leveraging technology to push development in his constituency and has also used it to keep in touch with the voters.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had also shortlisted Patil to drive technology enabled development work in the constituency of Varanasi in the state of Uttar Pradesh. The constituency has always been imperative for the BJP government. Patil, has been winning in his constituency with a huge margin, which has also been considered as one of the biggest margins in the Gujrat.
Jamyang Tsering Namgyal has been an MP from Ladakh since last two years. He is the 8th Chief Executive Councillor of the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council and has been the youngest person to assume of the office of the same.
The politician gained much fame due to his enthralling speeches at the parliament where he asserted to be representing the voice of Ladakh. After the abrogation of the Article 370 of the Indian constitution, the MP supported the move by his own party and made a moving speech in the Lok Sabha on the same. He will be taking up the office of his predecessor, who resigned from the position in the Ladakh region and the left the position vacant for a long time.
