Jay Shah took it to his Twitter to proudly announce the equal match fee for Indian Women’s team as to men’s team. The BCCI secretary declared it as the first step to eliminate gender discrimination.
I’m pleased to announce @BCCI’s first step towards tackling discrimination. We are implementing pay equity policy for our contracted @BCCIWomen cricketers. The match fee for both Men and Women Cricketers will be same as we move into a new era of gender equality in 🇮🇳 Cricket.
He also mentioned that it was a commitment he made to the Indian Women’s team and fulfilled it as well.
Currently, the updated match fee is:
Test Match: 15 Lakhs
ODI Match: 06 Lakhs
T20I Match: 03 Lakhs
