In the most recent issue of his PowerOn weekly newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims that the release of Apple’s next product is just days away. According to him, the Cupertino-based business would soon reveal new 11-inch and 12.9-inch models of the computer, codenamed J617 and J620, which include the same M2 processor as the most recent MacBook Air. The tablet, which is most likely going to be called the Apple M2 iPad Pro, will be the first update to the top-tier iPad range since Apple released the M1 chipset on both versions with a new 12.9-inch mini-LED display in April 2021.

The M2 chip, according to Gurman, will be the most significant upgrade because the processor is anticipated to provide a nearly 20% speed boost. The future iPads are expected to resemble the 2021 Pro models in terms of appearance. “The current look is slicker and aligns with the design of Apple’s other iPads and the iPhone, so it makes sense to stick with it for now,” the report says.

The first iPad version of iOS 16—iPadOS 16.1—is expected to be released by the iPhone manufacturer around the week of October 24. According to Gurman’s report, if everything goes according to schedule, the development should be completed the previous week. The most recent iPad Pro devices and the newest iterations of the 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro will be supported by the new iPad software update and the initial release of macOS Ventura. Apple’s quarterly earnings call is scheduled for October 27, but it’s possible that the corporation will introduce new items days or weeks earlier.
