The chairman of Reliance Industries Limited, Mukesh Ambani, is conducting the 43rd Annual General Meeting of the company today. The virtual meeting began at 2 PM today.

The meeting began with the introduction of JioMeet, an indigenous cloud video conferencing platform launched by Reliance. The AGM is being held via JioMeet today. The chairman moved on further to welcome all the investors who have bought a stake in the company so far like Facebook, Vista, etc.

Further, Ambani announced the milestone investment of the internet giant Google in Reliance. Google has invested Rs. 33,737 crores for a 7.7% stake in Jio platforms. He also asserted that Reliance, now, is a zero net-debt company.

After this announcement, the chairman of the company launched the ‘Jio 5G’ network service in India. “Jio has developed complete 5G solution from scratch that will enable us to launch a world-class 5G internet service in India”, stated Ambani.

He also affirmed that with the help of this world-class internet solution, “Jio can create compelling solutions that span multiple industry verticals and ecosystems like Media, financial services, new commerce, education, healthcare, agriculture, smart cities, smart manufacturing and smart mobility”, said Mukesh Ambani.

The meeting was also joined by the Director of Reliance Retail, Isha Ambani, who introduced ‘JioMart’ in the meeting. She explained the mechanism of the reliance retail platform. She also joined Aakash Ambani to conduct a virtual demonstration of the new Jio TV+.

RIL’s President, Kiran Thomas, introduced the new JioGlass. “The JioGlass is at the cutting edge of technology that provides in-class Mixed Reality services to give users a truly meaningful emerging experience”, he said. He also stated that this platform will enable enriched learning through 3-D virtual rooms and holographic classes.

The meeting also included brief virtual addressed from Facebook’s Mark Zucherberg and Google’s Sundar Pichai.
