Varun, who regards Sonu Sood to be his influence, wasted no time in dedicating his prize to the man dubbed “the nation’s hero.” Varun Dhawan dedicated his medal to Sonu, saying, “Sonu sir inspired me, particularly during the Covid shutdown… the way he went out of his way to help others. He was also in a relationship with Covid at the time, yet he nevertheless went forward to assist others.”
Varun remarks “I actually want to dedicate this award to Sonu sir from my heart. You inspire me and so many Indians and taught us how can we use our privilege to help others in such a trying time,”
