Captain cool turns 39 on this special day and has wishes pouring in from former and current teammates, friends and fans alike. India’s most successful captain, Mahi is the only captain to have won all three ICC trophies. He was the one who ended India’s 28 year wait by hitting the winning 6 at the Wankhede Stadium during the cwc final versus Sri Lanka.
Sushant Singh Rajput’s death by suicide sent shockwaves across the country including former Indian skipper MS Dhoni who had reportedly gone into isolation when he had heard of the news. Today as Dhoni celebrates his 39th birthday it would be fitting to remember their bond through a positive lens.
MS Dhoni: A Tribute To Love
In his 7 year long career, one of Sushant’s most sought after and acclaimed performance was that of MS Dhoni in his biopic titled, ‘MS Dhoni: The Untold Story’. The Untold Story which will forever be remembered by both Sushant and Dhoni’s fans. Sushant created on screen magic, even perfecting the smallest of nuances which are a part of Dhoni’s personality. After Sushant’s tragic death, a video had surfaced on social media in which a fan paid a touching tribute to the actor with a piece of artwork that would make you feel heartbroken but also make you smile.
In the video, MS Dhoni is looking towards the sky in his Chennai Super Kings jersey. There’s a message as he looks up which reads, “God, I’m taking GRS. I hope it’s a no-ball. He is not out and he still needs to play. SSR you are a king man.” On top of Dhoni’s picture is Sushant wearing the Indian jersey with No. 7 on it and besides the jersey, the number ’34*’ signifying his age and * as the not out.

The film’s director Neeraj Pandey told an entertainment portal. “Apart from calling Mahi Bhai. I have also called two of his best friends Mihir Diwakar and Arun Pandey”. He went on to say that all of them were terribly upset on hearing this bit of news, with MS Dhoni being particularly upset and shattered on hearing about Sushant’s demise.
