Indian Railways marks history by new record of operating a 2.8 Km Long Train. On June 2, Indian Railways marks history by running a 2.8 km long freight train. Between Nagpur to Korba. The train was named as ‘Sheshnag’. Which means a snake in English.
The rake had a total of 251 wagons with four electric locomotives fitted in between pulled these wagons. Four sets of electric locomotives with a capacity of 6000 horsepower then powered these rakes.
Indian Railways’ South East Central Railway zone commented that ‘Sheshnag’ completed the journey of about 260 kilometres in 6 hours which is an achievement in itself. It had reduced considerable transportation cast and time.
The record of ‘Super Anaconda’ is broken which travelled from Lajkura in Odisha to Rourkela by South East Central Railway.
