Warsaw, Feb 26 (UNI/Sputnik) Polish President Andrzej Duda has proposed on Saturday to immediately grant Ukraine the status of a candidate for joining the European Union. “Poland stands for fast-tracking Ukraine’s membership in the European Union. Candidate status must be granted immediately and membership negotiations should begin immediately thereafter,” Duda wrote on Twitter. Duda also noted that Ukraine “should have access to funds from the EU for restoration.”
