Music composer-singer Bappi Lahiri, known as the disco king of Bollywood, died at a Mumbai hospital on Tuesday night, February 15, after suffering from a sleep-related breathing disorder. He was 69. The singer was admitted to Juhu’s Criticare Hospital, where he breathed his last at 11:45 pm.
Bappi Lahiri introduced disco songs in this industry. The singer was referred to as ‘Disco King’.
To pay homage, Actress Kajol Devgn along with her mother Tanuja has reached Bappi Ji’s home. They have arrived to meet Bappi Ji’s family members and express their condolences.
Singer Alka Yagnik also arrived at Bappi Sa’s home to pay her condolences. Alka Yagnik used to consider Bappi Da as her idol.
Kajol also took over Instagram to pen down a note. She wrote, “Today we lost the disco king, Bappi Da you were not only an amazing music composer and singer but also a beautiful and happy soul. End of an Era. May your soul rest in peace.”
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal also expressed his condolences. “Received the sad news of famous singer and musician Bappi Lahiri’s demise. The passing away of Bappi da is a big loss for the world of music. May god rest the departed soul at his feet and provide strength to his relatives and admirers to bear this loss,” Kejriwal tweeted.
