Indian cricketer, Suryakumar Yadav gets nominated for the debutant of the year at the ESPNcricinfo awards.

The 31-year-old grabs his nomination after making 124 runs at 62.00 SR (3 matches) in ODI format and 244 runs at 155.41 SR (11 matches) in the T20I format.

The right-handed batsman, who has shown his worth with his impeccable performance in IPL, made his debut for India at the age of 30 in 2021. Yadav debuted in the international zone after gaining a lot of experience and a deep understanding of his game.

Yadav’s contribution to T20I cricket is immense, especially his debut in March against England where he made 57 runs off 31 deliveries and 32 runs off 17 deliveries. In his 11 T20Is, Yadav has struck an incredible 155.41 SR. Yadav had made his ODI debut in July against Sri Lanka and achieved the ‘Player of the Series award.

Yadav made his first-class debut against Delhi at the 2010-11 Ranji Trophy. In October 2018, he was named under India’s C’s squad for the 2018-19 Deodhar Trophy. Ha had led the Mumbai cricket team in the 2020-21 Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

Yadav represents the Mumbai franchise in the Indian Premier League. He started his IPL journey with Mumbai but later on, he was bought by Kolkata Franchise in the 2014 IPL auction. In the 2018 IPL auction, he was bought again by Mumbai Indians for Rs 3.2 cr. After having an amazing run with the Mumbai franchise who won the IPL five times (2013, 2015, 2017, 2019, 2020), he was retained by them for Rs 8 cr ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.
