On Tuesday hours after accompanying President Jair Bolsonaro to the United Nations General Assembly in New York, Brazil’s Health Minister Marcelo Queiroga tested positive for COVID-19 as per the reports by the government.
The government communication office told that the Minister will remain quarantined for few days in New York. The minister is doing well and it was reported in a statement that the rest of the members who were with them tested negative for the COVID-19.

It was being said by Health Minister Marcelo to CNN Brasil that he has worn the mask the entire time that he was in the UN building. Among the Brazilian delegation, The health minister was the second member in New York to be tested positive for COVID-19. The one who was tested positive before the minister on weekend was a young diplomat part of an advance team preparing Bolsonaro’s visit he was isolated.
At a meeting with world leaders over the agenda of the global coronavirus pandemic, President Jair Bolsonaro said that the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 had been successfully done in Brazil and everyone will be fully vaccinated by November.
