Indian wicket-keeper batsman, Rishabh Pant with 733 runs is the leading run-scorer for India in test cricket since the year 2020. It is a matter of great surprise that a middle-order batsman has scored the most runs, leaving behind the openers and the higher middle-order batsmen. Rishabh Pant has made his place in the Indian tests team by working very hard on his batting and wicket-keeping in these 2 years. He has also become the fastest Indian wicket-keeper to have scored 1000 runs in tests.

The Indian team is in England to play 5 tests matches there before the start of the IPL 2021. India won the second tests match against England which was played in Lord’s cricket ground between August 12 to August 16. Rishabh Pant too played this match, however, he didn’t score many runs but his wicket-keeping contributions were crucial in this match to help India get this historic win in England.

Since the start of 2020, Rishabh Pant is leading with his bat in Test matches for India. He has scored a total of 733 runs with an average of 40.72 leaving behind Rohit Sharma who scored 690 runs with an average of 46.00. Till now Indian fans wouldn’t have forgotten the Gabba test against Australia where Rishabh Pant single-handedly won the match for India on his own and created history.

The top five leading run-scorers for India in tests since 2020 also includes Ajinkya Rahane on 3rd with 602 runs, Cheteshwar Pujara on 4th with 597 runs and Shubman Gill who got injured in England in practice and went back to India without playing a single test is on 5th with his 414 runs.

Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli is not on this list but he is taking it as a positive that India now doesn’t seem dependent only on one or two batsmen, rather they are looking like a team now. Indian fans are hoping that this phase of Rishabh pant will last longer and help the Indian team to get more victories in test cricket.
