Actress Shilpa Shetty Kundra’s husband, businessman Raj Kundra has been arrested in an alleged pornogra[hy case on Monday night. Raj Kundra has been in headlines since the last evening after he was accused in an alleged pornography case and was said to be the “key conspirator” for the same. As per the reports, he has been accused of making pornographic films and publishing them via mobile applications. The case has been creating a lot of buzz in B-Town. Meanwhile, Raj Kundra’s old tweets that he posted in 2012 about porn vs prostitution are taking the internet by storm.
Taking it to Twitter, Raj Kundra had asked about the difference between porn and prostitution. He had tweeted, “Ok so here go’s Porn Vs Prostitution. Why is it legal to pay someone for sex on camera? How is one different to the other??” He had also tweeted, “India: Actors are playing cricket, Cricketers are playing politics, Politicians are watching porn and Porn stars are becoming actors….!”
Mumbai Police commissioner had released a statement on the case and said, “There was a case registered with Crime Branch Mumbai in February 2021 about the creation of pornographic films and publishing them through some apps. We’ve arrested Mr Raj Kundra in this case on 19/7/21 as he appears to be the key conspirator of this. We have sufficient evidence regarding this. Investigation is in progress please.”
Raj Kundra’s name came up in the case after the Mumbai Police Property Cell caught a gang involved in the production of pornographic films. The property cell arrested Umesh Kamat, who allegedly claimed to work for Raj Kundra’s company while busting the racket. However, before arresting Kundra, the Crime Branch sought evidence.
As per the reports by News18, a Crime Branch officer had said, “Our team worked on it closely after filing the first charge sheet in the case. During the probe, we found that the accused, in fact, sent WeTransfer files abroad sitting in Kundra’s office”.
