Russia on Saturday announced that western nations have expanded the dispatch of mercenaries to the battle zones in Ukraine and enabled tensions on Ukraine’s territory. The UK, Denmark, Latvia, Poland, and Croatia have officially permitted their citizens to take part in hostilities on the territory of Ukraine, told the Russian Embassy.

It further asserted that the United States began a large-scale campaign to enrol private military dresses such as Academi, Cubic, and DynCorp. The French Foreign Legion also intends to take ethnic Ukrainians. A number of fighters are predicted to come from Germany, the Russian Embassy added.

As per Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, approximately 16,000 foreign fighters are anticipated in Ukraine, it announced. “About 200 of mercenaries from Croatia have already arrived the country through Poland and joined uncontrollable nationalist units in the South East of Ukraine,” it added.

Earlier today, Russia’s defence ministry declared a ceasefire to allow residents of two besieged cities, comprising the strategic port city of Mariupol, to vacate.

“Today, on March 5, from 10 a.m. Moscow time, the Russian side announced a regime of silence and unlocked humanitarian corridors for civilians to leave Mariupol and Volnovakha. Humanitarian corridors & exit routes have been organized with the Ukrainian side,” it announced in a Facebook post.

Russia and Ukraine have been closed up in a military conflict since February 24 when President Vladimir Putin’s army began what it calls military operations in Ukraine, days after Moscow comprehended Ukraine’s breakaway regions – Donetsk and Luhansk – as independent entities. The attack has evoked strong condemnation and drastic sanctions from Western nations, encompassing the United States.
