Boulder shooting is the second mass shooting in the U.S. in a week, after a gunman in Atlanta killed eight people on March 16. “Michelle and I grieve with the families of the victims of the shooting in Boulder, just as we grieve with the families of the people killed in Atlanta and everyone else who has lost a loved one to gun violence,” said the former president of America in his recent tweet.

The shootings grabbed the government’s attention on the presence of gun culture in the US, following a year during which the coronavirus pandemic slowed the rate of such attacks.

Obama also spoke about the loss, America has suffered due to the shootings and condemned gun violence by stating that people should be able to live their life without the fear of ‘someone showing up with a gun’.

“We shouldn’t have to choose between one type of tragedy and another. It’s time for leaders everywhere to listen to the American people when they say enough is enough—because this is a normal we can no longer afford,” Barack Obama wrote, as he concluded his statement.

Meanwhile, 46th U.S. President, Joe Biden shared his condolences on Tuesday. Calling out for federal laws to expand background checks and ban assault-style weapons and high-capacity magazines, Biden reportedly said, “I don’t need to wait another minute, let alone an hour to take common sense steps that will save the lives in the future.”
