The US hopes for a “peaceful resolution” to the border conflict between India and China, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said while addressing a press conference.
“More missile tests were done in China last year than all western nations combined. If you’re going to be serious, you’ve to use those in a way that is consistent with how nations undertake obligation under nuclear proliferation treaties,” Pompeo added.
Addressing the briefing, US Secretary of State said China was bullying its neighbours from the Taiwan Strait to the Himalayas and beyond.
Pompeo’s statements come amid the ongoing tensions along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between two nuclear-armed nations.
This is not the first time Mr Mike has criticised China for its expansionist strategies. Even earlier, Pompeo had said that China’s “expansionism” was the biggest challenge of our times.
