Kyiv, October 27 (Monday): Ukraine’s Air Forces reported that Russia launched 100 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) overnight in one of the largest drone assaults in recent weeks, targeting multiple regions across the country.

According to a statement posted on Telegram, the Russian army deployed Shahed, Geran, and other attack drones from several directions, including Kursk, Orel, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk.

“On the night of October 27, the enemy attacked with 100 Shahed, Geran attack UAVs and other types of drones from the following directions: Kursk, Orel, Primorsko-Akhtarsk,” the Ukrainian Air Force said.

Ukraine’s air defense systems shot down or suppressed 66 drones across the northern, southern, and eastern regions, while 26 UAVs struck nine locations, causing varying degrees of damage.

The attacks come amid continued Russian efforts to pressure Ukraine’s energy infrastructure and urban centers ahead of the winter months. Ukrainian officials said defense units remain on high alert, with anti-air systems deployed extensively to counter persistent drone and missile threats.

The Ukrainian military described the operation as part of Russia’s ongoing campaign of aerial harassment, designed to deplete Ukrainian air defenses and strain civilian resilience.

Further assessments on the scale of the damage and casualty reports are still awaited.
