The Ukrainian Navy on Friday said it carried out a strike on Russian energy infrastructure, claiming successful hits on sites supporting military operations. In a statement posted on Telegram, the Navy said Neptune cruise missiles were used to target a combined heat and power plant (CHPP) in Oryol and the Novobryansk electrical substation.

According to the Ukrainian military, both facilities were supplying power to Russian military enterprises in the region. “Their incapacitation is a serious blow to the logistics of the occupiers,” the Navy said.

Russian authorities have not publicly confirmed the strikes as of the latest update.

The attack marks Ukraine’s latest effort to target infrastructure linked to Russia’s defence capability amid the ongoing conflict.
