The Los Angeles Police Department is continuing its investigation after human remains were discovered inside a Tesla registered to rising music star D4vd. The shocking discovery has raised questions worldwide, with many asking the same thing: who was the victim?

The Discovery in Hollywood

On September 8, 2025, workers at Hollywood Tow on Mansfield Avenue reported a foul odor coming from a Tesla that had been impounded days earlier. When police inspected the vehicle’s front trunk, they found a decomposed body wrapped in a bag.

The car was traced back to David Anthony Burke, professionally known as D4vd, a Texas-born singer best known for his viral hit “Here With Me.” Authorities confirmed that D4vd is not a suspect and has been cooperating fully with the LAPD while continuing his world tour.

Victim Identification

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner released key details about the victim:

  • The remains are of a female, approximately 5-foot-1 in height and weighing around 71 pounds.
  • She had wavy black hair.
  • A distinctive tattoo reading “Shhh…” was found on her right index finger.
  • At the time of discovery, she was wearing a tube top and black leggings.
  • Jewelry included a metal stud earring and a bracelet in the shape of the letter “W.”

Because of the advanced state of decomposition, the cause of death and age could not yet be determined. Authorities are treating the case as a homicide investigation.

Ongoing Investigation

The LAPD continues to search for leads to establish the victim’s identity and determine how her remains ended up in the abandoned Tesla. Forensic experts are also working to trace possible DNA and other evidence from the scene.

This case remains active and developing, with updates expected from both the LAPD and the Medical Examiner’s Office in the coming days.
