Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani was spotted at a New Hampshire baseball game with Maria Ryan, the woman long rumored to be his girlfriend, just hours before he was seriously injured in a late-night car crash. The sighting has once again drawn attention to Ryan, her background, and her connection to Giuliani.
The Public Outing Before the Crash
On the evening of August 30, Giuliani and Ryan were seen together at a Manchester Fisher Cats minor league baseball game. Television cameras captured them in the stands, chatting and looking at Ryan’s phone during the game.
Later that night, Giuliani’s rented SUV was rear-ended on a New Hampshire highway. The 81-year-old sustained a fractured vertebra and multiple injuries to his left side. While Ryan was not in the car during the crash, she has since been helping oversee his recovery and medical care.

Maria Ryan, often referred to as “Dr. Maria,” is a board-certified nurse practitioner and former hospital executive from New Hampshire. Born in Manchester, New Hampshire, she began her career in healthcare after earning an associate degree in nursing from the New Hampshire Technical Institute in 1989. She later obtained a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire in 1994, a master’s degree from Rivier College in 1997, and a doctorate in healthcare administration from Warren National University, which closed in 2009 and was criticized as a “diploma mill.”
Ryan served as the CEO of Cottage Hospital in Woodsville, New Hampshire, from 2010 to 2020. During her tenure, she gained recognition for her leadership, earning the title of Outstanding Woman in Business by NH Business Review in 2017. As per reports, beyond her hospital role, Ryan has been involved in media, co-hosting podcasts and radio shows with Giuliani, including Uncovering the Truth and America’s Mayor Live. She is also the president of Giuliani Communications, LLC, which manages Giuliani’s media ventures, such as his coffee brand, Rudy Coffee.

In Giuliani’s bankruptcy filings, creditors even described Ryan as his “girlfriend,” pointing to financial reimbursements she received.
