The US is eyeing the sale of stealthy F-35 fighter jets made by Lockheed Martin Corp to the United Arab Emirates, sources revealed.

Trump told reporters at a news conference that the Emiratis had expressed interest in buying quite a few of the stealth fighter jets.

The sale if materialized could reduce Israel’s military advantage in the Middle East, according to experts.

However, citing a need to maintain military superiority in the region, PM Netanyahu said Israel will oppose any U.S. F-35 warplane sales to the UAE.

As per the latest inputs, Israel’s long-standing objection to the F-35 fighter jets’ sale to the Gulf state would not change despite the normalization agreements.
