Invoking her Indian roots, former US Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley took the stage at the opening night of the Republican National Convention on Monday.
Ms Haley said she was the proud daughter of Indian immigrants who also faced discrimination but rejected that “America is racist.”

“America is a story that’s a work in progress. Now is the time to build on that progress, and make America even freer, fairer, and better for everyone,” the 48-year-old former US Ambassador to the United Nations said.
It should be mentioned here that there are nearly 1.8 million Indian Americans eligible to vote in 2020, and they can play a significant role in the presidential election this year.
