United Airlines is planning for the biggest pilot furloughs of its history as it grapples with the effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
On Thursday, it announced the need to cut 2,850 pilot jobs this year without further US government aid.
United’s planned cuts would run between October 1 and November 30. They are significantly higher than that of Delta Air Lines and American Airlines.
It is to be noted here that airlines have asked the US government for another $25 billion to cover employee payroll through March.
