A high-level closed-door meeting between United States President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping concluded after nearly one hour and forty minutes, Chinese media reported. The leaders met amid heightened global attention over the future of US-China relations.
Ahead of the talks, Trump signaled optimism, suggesting the two sides could potentially strike a trade deal. Xi, meanwhile, stated he was prepared to work with the United States “to build a solid foundation for China–US relations and create a sound atmosphere for the development of both countries.”
