In order to overturn his election defeat, hundreds of President Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday where the police had to evacuate lawmakers and struggled for more than three hours to clear the of Trump supporters, who surged through the hallways and rummaged through offices.

The violence at Washington DC has been claimed as a result of Trump repeatedly making false claims that the vote was rigged while he refused to concede and convinced his supporters to help him overturn his loss over the last two months. Four casualties have been reported including one Air Force veteran, Ashli Babbitt and multiple people got injuries. The violence interrupted a constitutional process to affirm Joe Biden’s victory in the presidential election.
