The Minneapolis church massacre shocked the nation this week after 26-year-old Robin Westman stormed into Annunciation Catholic Church with an arsenal of firearms and tactical gear, leaving two children dead and 18 people injured. Newly unsealed court documents obtained by TMZ reveal the full scale of Westman’s weaponry and preparation for the deadly rampage.
The Weapons Used in the Attack
As per reports, Investigators say Westman arrived heavily armed with three high-powered firearms:
-
A Taurus semi-automatic pistol
-
A Mossberg shotgun
-
A Magpul semi-automatic rifle
Authorities reported that all three guns were fired during the attack. The Magpul rifle was the most extensively used, unleashing 116 rounds inside the church as Westman fired at worshippers, while the shotgun was discharged three times. The Taurus pistol, meanwhile, reportedly malfunctioned when Westman pulled the trigger, though police later found a live round still chambered.
Inside the church, investigators recovered four empty rifle magazines, along with additional magazines still filled with live ammunition. They also discovered three 9mm magazines belonging to the Taurus pistol.
Tactical Gear and Armor
According to the police report, Westman was dressed in full body armor during the massacre, suggesting a premeditated plan to maximize damage while protecting themselves from any response. This tactical preparation mirrors strategies used in past mass shootings, highlighting a disturbing trend of militarized civilian assaults.
The Human Toll
The shooting claimed the lives of 8-year-old Fletcher Merkel and 10-year-old Harper Moyski, both of whom were inside the church pews during the attack. Among the 18 injured, the majority were children, along with several adults who were caught in the gunfire.
Westman ultimately turned the gun on themselves, dying from a self-inflicted gunshot wound before law enforcement could make an arrest.
The Shooter’s Writings
Alongside the weapons and tactical gear, investigators uncovered a disturbing manifesto written by Westman. In the writings, Westman allegedly praised other mass shooters, expressed violent fantasies about assassinating President Donald Trump, and showcased photos of ammunition cartridges marked with racist and antisemitic slurs.
